It was raining pretty heavily when I got there this morning but the sky cleared up for a while. Pretty windy and choppy but there were definitely some nice rides. C&C always appreciated.

Very cool shots! I like the first and second the most because of how the water looks. What kind of setup where you using?

thanks deadeye. I was using my 350d with 100-400 4.5-5.6L lens, most shot wide open @ 400mm 1/2000 or so, depending on the cloud cover.

Great shots! I like your pics better than the official events site...your color saturation is way better...

I wonder if that's post production. Those professional ones look similar to how my photos turn out after editing at the paper.

Although the contrast is MUCH nicer in your photos. The professional ones look washed out. I can't imagine those being for print in a magazine. Maybe a newspaper, but not a mag where color is really important

    thanks for the comments :D
Mine looked similar straight from the camera, although not so washed out. I just fixed them up with the Auto Tone in LR so they could be uploaded quickly. It was an overcast day just after a storm so there was plenty of muck in the water, plus southern california isn't known for crystal clear blue waters, so some of my colors may not be exactly true to life. mwink.gif I suspect those are straight from the camera with no PP.

I'm no expert yet, but I'd be willing to bet there was PP in his thumb.gif
