Beautiful photos of a lovely-looking place! I have never been to OBX but I think I am the only one on this side of the country who hasn't. You brought back wonderfully warm colors and a taste of the end of summer. Thanks for sharing!

This looks like a great place to visit off the peak season.

The lighthouses are pretty cool. Didn't they just move one of them like a
mile or so to protect it from the encroaching sea?

Yes... I think it has been a while since it was moved... it is the candy cane stripped light house on the south end of Hatteras Island... my Brother-in-law climbed it and got a few shots I stiched togeter for him, which shows the path they took to move it...

I think the image with the fence and the sand is very interesting. Nice job!

:D Great images. I live about an hour and a half from there. Where did you stay? I'm actually considering moving fairly close to there but have to figure out how to make a living. The other closer lighthouse is Corolla of which is to the north. Last time I was there it was hard to get a good picture as development has just about surrounded the lighthouse and I believe it is now privately owned and the county is at war with the present owners and clamping down with unusually harsh restrictions.

Beautiful pics, thanks for posting these. I've always wanted to go to the Outer Banks since I love everything ocean, but my husband, who's lived there for a while a long time back, keeps insisting that "there's really nothing there". I particularly like the crab shot and those beautifully rippled dunes.
