A few minutes with an Antelope
On the way home from the circus with the family in the car, I spy this antelope out in a field. So of course I veered off the road to try to get some pics before he ran off. The kids are used to this behavior (mine, not the antelope's).
Surprisingly, he didn't run. He just stood there for some reason.
Oops.
"What are you looking at?"
"I'm outta here"
All in all, I couldn't complain. :wink
Thanks for looking.

Maybe even a little more contrast, Joel.
Hey, thanks Ian. Yeah, that's probably the best of the bunch. The mountains make a better backdrop than does the fence and he's framed pretty nicely in that setting.

Oh yeah, the other thing was that the big galoot wasn't cooperating at all. I really wanted to get him to turn into the sun, but he wasn't having any part of it. My wife and kids were getting so fed up with me chasing this guy and repositioning the car, eventually the whole family was out of the car screaming at the antelope to get it to do something.

Hi Joel. Nice shots. The last one is a definite keeper but he better watch it or he'll be hanging on some hunters wall. That's a nice rack that guy is carrying.

Thanks, Aaron! As you can probably guess, these were shot right in your old home town.

Thanks, Al! Yeah, I kept trying to attract his attention when he starting walking out over the hill, but he just kept on walking and wouldn't look back.

Animals seem to welcome your presence
even while they're going "Oops"
But seriously, seems like you had a similar experience with the fox series you posted previously. What's your secret???

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Good thing my mom doesn't look on here. You visit my home town area more than I do- i would be in soo much trouble!

Although my seemingly inability to scare animals might not be an advantage when we go to shoot the Katmai bears next summer. :eek1

Thanks, Socrate! We might not have all the cool birds and aligators that you Floridians have, but we do have some big mammals out here.

Thanks, David! Ok, I'm noticing a pattern here. Folks prefer mountains to barb wire fences in the shots. Mental note made.
