What a mess!

Having only purchased my D40 some two months ago I am still very much learning.. and with that in mind be nice...
I fiddle with the setting on my camera as much as anyone I guess.. no point having all these things if ya don't have a play is there... well the first photo below is not edited in any way. It's taken on top of a fell called Lonscale Pike in the English Lake District. Some how I had altered almost all of the setting to no where near where they should have been... 55mm - F 5.6 - 1/500 sec - iso 1600 !! (no idea how this happened).
I had a play in PS and this is about the best I could make it.. gosh I have a lot to learn yet...
I understand it isn't brilliant, but it still hangs on our wall.. just different to what I normally see...
