My second shooter's shots!

You may have seen Karie before, my beautiful sister-in-law and part-time grip. She did her first gig with me yesterday as second shooter as well as helped me some with off camera flash (maybe some of those later...). She is a beginner with the camera, but boy does she have an eye! I'm so floored!

Keep in mind this is the "spice" of the session, of course I have shots of them both engaging the camera, etc. We're doing an album with this shoot so I really wanted some funky "b-roll" shots to throw in.

Here are some of her pics! :) All natural light (I was the one hooked up to the strobes), Rebel XT, 85mm 1.8.

2. Our bride-to-be is a tough subject, Karie caught the most amazing expressions from her, I don't know when or how she did it!!

5. A little soft but I just LOVE our girl's expression here! I had missed it, and asked her to do it again, and the moment was gone...and voila! karie got it. :D

6. I am just in love with this one!!!

8. (whoever she must be really FUNNY!)

Thanks for looking!

I learned yesterday that I really need a hood for that 85mm...there was a lot of flare to overcome in PP, of course I didn't see any b/c all my other lenses are hooded! whoops....

These are lovely! You have great talent in your second shooter. :D

You know, the 85mm is the only lens I don't have a hood for, myself.

Does that camera have both a 'vertical' as well as a 'horizontal' shutterbutton? It looks like it does. If so, it's interesting to see you are still using the 'vertical' one :D

I am sure with tutilage from you she will be better than most of us in no time. You are lucky to have someone close to you who is interested in photography enough to be willing to jump in there with you. Good luck!!!

thanks Susan! I finally have the whole gallery up, and I'll post some here in a few! :) Until now I have opted to work alone instead of hiring a stranger, I just can't see myself working well that way. I hope I can keep Karie interested and learning a lot!

This is a very nice series and the couple are going to love the additional perspective.

I am so jealous that you have a second. I'm still working on mine but he's coming along. It just takes time.
