It's always nice to get a little recognition.
This is something very minor especially compared to what some of the great wildlife photographers do and I could be considered pre-amateur at best, but in the next Birder's World e-newsletter, one of the editors has decided to include one of these three pics. I don't even consider these to be very good, but she liked the breeding plumage. I certainly appreciate her consideration though and I am humbled.
Who knows? Today an e-newsletter from Birder's World and tomorrow National Geographic! :rofl

Congratulations for putting yourself out there as well as the recognition. I like the term pre-amateur - something I feel I can relate to, especially in these forums. I see something special in each of the three photos: #1 I love the "pose", #2 I love the bug in the beak, #3 I love how the scattered flowers in the field frame the bird. Thanks for sharing!

Way to go, Stephen.
BTW...the reason I try to always include the person's name that I am talking to (in person or print) is a small thing that everyone appreciates...whether they know it or not.
Congrats Stephen.. Way to go !!
It just goes to show how one person can view an image and see one thing and another person sees something totally different.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Thanks so much photojen1. I just reread the request and if I understand correctly I think she actually wants to use the third pic because of the splash of flowers with the cattle egret. I would have much preferred one of the other two, but again, I am just happy that someone liked it well enough to include in a newsletter. Thanks again.

I've noticed that Ric. Stephen is a pretty common name so almost none of the forums I use will alllow that user name.
Thanks for the comments and you are right. It adds vigor to one's desire to go out again. The birds have been a bit slow lately and this is migration time, but the birds seem to be going west and east of me. The recognition is small, but it is enough to get me going.

Thanks. You are right because at my SmugMug site most of the photos that have been tagged as the most popular aren't to me. Oh well, thanks again.

Thanks so much. I hope to post some as good as your 40D shots if I ever get one.

I think I may have coined a new term. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks Dave. It's small, but exciting. Someone else besides mom likes one of my photographs.
