Upload Image Resolution and Size

I am a little lost finding the answer here in the forums, so here is a simple question..
If I wanted to allow a customer to purchase ANY product in the SmugMug product listing (including t-shirts, mousepads, mugs, tiles etc.) what image resolution and image size would I have to export my JPEG images out of Lightroom and upload to SmugMug? After reviewing the help section and the product size requirements, it looks like the largest product image size is the large puzzle at 2048x1536. So I am safe in assuming if I save all of SM images at a size greater than 2048x1536 that should cover all products and prints?
Also, is there any reason to change my color space from sRGB to either AdobeRGB or ProPhotoRGB?
Thank you in advance.

Smugmug, their printer and PC browsers require sRGB images so that's what you should upload. If, by mistake, you upload AdobeRGB, Smugmug will convert it to sRGB upon upload.
The safest thing to do with image size is to upload the original number of pixels (the exact number of pixels you have out of the camera minus any you cropped). Do not resize/resample. This will let your friends/customers order all the products that are suitable for the size image you have.
All that matters in the Smugmug and Smugmug printer world is the number of pixels you have. The labeled image size (e.g. 8x10) and the labeled ppi (e.g. 240ppi) do not matter so do not worry about them for Smugmug or printing through Smugmug. They can be set to junk and it won't impact your web display or your prints through Smugmug one bit.

I understand the idea of "space is unlimited so upload your largest," but if I'm not (yet) selling images, won't my gallery pages load more quickly for clients if my image sizes are reduced?
When you upload, smugmug creates small, medium, and large versions of your photos for display in your gallery. And even if you allow access to the originals, that's not one of the default sizes on a gallery display, so someone would have to explicitly request that an original be displayed.
You may not be selling images yet, but someday you might want to. And you may also want to order prints yourself through your galleries.
