I took these for a story. the one that her face is out of focus is because the story is about her being jewish so i focused on her necklace but still kept enough definition to tell who it is.

    I like the first one, but to me, the second one has too much that is out of focus. Perhaps a smaller aperture would of been better?

    Both have a kind of oil painting feel, so the focus issue doesn't really bother me. I always like to see eyes, and when I don't I think there is a message. In this case, perhaps she is shy or demur?

    The second shot is quite striking. You are in very close and the angle is unusual.
    If not now, when?
