I had gotten out of my boat and climbed a large rock on the opposite bank.

BTW, on the New River Gorge, at the exact right level, there is a "Jesus Rock" in the middle of a large pool just upstream from the massive bridge and a large rapid. One of these days I'll have the right model, the right river level, the right light, and ...
