CS3 and Canon D40 CR2 files

Hi, I just got my new Canon 40D and I can't seem to get my CS3 to recognize the .CR2 files. I updated CS3 with the new ACR 4.2, but CS3 still says it can't recognize the type of file when I try to open the raw files.

Help! :dunno

    Just get an update for ACR 4.x (PS CS3) from Adobe, it's free:-)

    thanks, I installed ACR 4.2 and it still won't work to open my raw files. CS3 says "Could not complete your request because photoshop can't recognize this type of file".

    what am I doing wrong?

    2. Ask Nikolai in the linked I gave you, or

    3. Another idea: Have you installed the CD which comes with the camera ?

    I figured it out! the patch doesn't work for the sRAW files...why I had it on sRAW I don't know! I'm all good now. Thanks for your help!
