Butterfly Garden: Little Girls Perspective on Mimi's Garden
Like many people do when they retire, my mom and stepdad create a flower garden. I really don't pay much attention to them. The other day, I was helping my mom look after my 3 1/2 yr old niece and we were walking around outside. We came upon a "banana" spider and she said, "That is the biggest spider I have EVER SEEN!".
Underneath the spider, butterflies and moths were flying from plant to plant. I would tell her to be REAL still and maybe the butterflies would land on the flowers in front of us. When they would, she would take in a deep breath of excitement. "They are so precious and lovely!", she would say. Yes, she said that. She also enjoys the hummingbirds that come to the feeders and flowers in the garden.
Mimi, that's my mom, said the previous day their cat crawled into a basket and my niece said she wished uncle Jon was there to take it's picture because it looked so cute. The cat crawled into the basket today, so I got a few pictures.
Photography tip: Get on a little girls level and take pictures they notice.
I am getting checked out by the female hummingbird.
I pass inspection.
All shot with 18-200 mm.
