Film developing?

Hey folks -

I just went sky diving and got a roll of film from the camera guy that went with me. I don't really want to bring it to my local drug store, since I don't really trust them to care for these shots.

I'm in NYC, so I'm sure there are good places to develop, but I'm kinda lazy, so I'd rather send it to an online service. I ultimately want the photos on disc, though getting prints would likely be part of it.

I have used snapfish before, but I find them to be very slow and mediocre quality. Has anyone done this recently? Any good places?

Wow...who would have thought it would be tough to get film developed.

Thanks!
Adam

Hey! I heard rumours that folks used to put that stuff in their cameras.:rutt

I'm curious. How'd it turn out? Were you able to find a cusom lab? What did it cost?

Ha ha! I wasn't able to find a really good, yet affordable and convenient developer (disclaimer - I didn't try all that hard), so I ended up bringing them to Walgreens drug store. The one hour photo machine did an OK job. They aren't the greatest prints, but I also don't think the photographs were taken with much care. Very washed out background. Ah well. It all served it's purpose. I guess I can't expect too much when the camera in question is strapped to a guy's head and he's falling from 13000 feet at 120 MPH.

One good thing was they gave us prints and scanned the images onto a CD for us. This is what came out: http://afarber.smugmug.com/gallery/3650469#208319991

For comparison's sake, the other guy that was shooting for us (taking my photo) was using a digital Cannon SLR (not sure which one) and they came out better: http://afarber.smugmug.com/gallery/3650463#208309348
