I was down on the river right before sunset on Sunday and there were literally dozens of black kites circling and dropping down to the banks to feed on the ded fish which for some reason were everywhere. It was an overcast day and the light was poor. The pics I got are not great quality, but interesting all the same. It was interesting to watch the crows trying to scavenge from the kites even though there were plenty of other dead fish lying about. They kites put on a good display too. I just wish I had a bigger lens and didn't have to crop these down so much. I didn't bother trying to clean them up too much. Anyway, bad quality pics but interesting content.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

You have some nice behavioral shots! It's nice to see that the kites weren't taking any crap from these crows! rolleyes1.gif

Thanks Harry, Stephen, Socrate and Dave.

Yeah it was interesting to watch because it is usually the kites that get beaten off by the crows if they fly through the crows territory. But I think I must have seen a kite not just having a go at, but also prursuing the crows through the air, at least 5 or 6 times. It was a very fun hour or so of entertainment.

Rock, Paper, Scissors! Crows have always been my favorite, but Hawks sure are mighty.
