Necedah National Wildlife Refuge...
...in central Wisconsin was where I went this weekend. Sorting thru lots of shots. Basically poor light again...but more keepers this time. Here's one just before sunset Sunday evening. The 40D and a monopod were used.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Yep...almost 3 hours...a little less if those Wisconsin State Troopers are doing their donut thing!
If you ever go up, the main entrance is on 21 the way you should go to the observation tower to view the Whooping Cranes. The best photo spot is all the way to the north of the refuge which is huge. Better to go north on 80 till you come to Sprague. Turn left (west) by the Wilderness Inn. (the only thing on the hiway for miles) And follow around to the left. This road is paved...none of the roads in the refuge are and of course you must go slow. Follow till you come to the dike road and turn right (north)...a really great spot.
thanks ric
