Moraine Lake, Canadian Rockies

Spent a week in the Canadian Rockies (Lake Louise, Jasper, Lake O'Hara, Moraine Lake), with the weather largely being pretty bad. Ah well, got some good shots of the larch trees as they turned colors.

Too busy to get a choice to process many, but I did get one day of clearing at Moraine Lake and so figured I'd show one of mid-morning when the clouds cleared and the sun got high enough to light the peaks.

This is a 17-40 at 17mm on my 1D mark II with a 2-stop ND grad to bring down the mountains a bit. Marc can easily merge stuff in Photoshop but it's easier for me to use the graduated ND filter :wink

    Gorgeous
It looks like it did not stay that way long either.

Beutiful shot! My brother was wedded at Lac Moraine, same flat spot this photo is from, and the Crow on my Avator is from the roof of the canoe rental boathouse at Lac Moraine. I've only seen it in June. Thanks for sharing. The Canadian Rockies Rock!

Great shot. We were through there the week before you, and had variable weather. It's just kind of the way things are in the Rockies in the fall.

Beautiful shot. Beautiful looking place. I have never been there. But, I feel a chill inside looking at the image. Makes me actually feel like I'm drinking an ice cold beverage.
