Once again, Kate and I had a great time seeing everybody.
Here are a few of my shots. I hope to get to Kate's soon, but after being gone for this amount of time, I'm going to be busy for the next couple of days.

On with the pics.

Getting to Glacier late in the day, we went out exploring and found a full moon coming up over a ridge.
203066652-L.jpg

One of the first mornings, we went to get a sunrise shot of the range getting hit by the first light.
203066302-L.jpg

We also went on a couple of hikes looking for waterfalls.
Sometimes the falls were hard to see.
203065823-L.jpg

But after a while, folks got out of the way.
203066284-L.jpg

203066258-L.jpg

203065772-L.jpg

As most of you know, I shoot way more wildlife than I do landscapes, so here are a few
of the critters we found in and around Glacier.

203065028-L.jpg

203067256-L.jpg

203067176-L.jpg

203067190-L.jpg

These need a little bit of the story behind them.
A mountain goat fell/died and a female grizzly and her 2 cubs (that were almost full grown) found it, and were living the high life off of it.
A female black bear with her 2 cubs (small) came upon the scene without seeing the grizzly family right away.

203065713-L.jpg

The black bear family got out there in a hurry, and the grizzly family were pretty pleased with themselves.

203065058-L.jpg

That's all for now.
Thanks again to Smugmug and to all of the Smugmuggers that made this a very enjoyable trip.
dave.

Wow, beautiful photgraphs. I know where the waterfalls are but where did you take the Grizzly photo's?
    See my photo's athttp://jdmphoto.smugmug.com/

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Ah, now I get to see the Beargasm! With my longest lens being 200mm, they were just little brown dots on the hillside.

Thanks for lending me your 400 for the eagle that morning. I was looking at the file later and thinking it was still blurry, but maybe if I'd shot it in jpg it would have been clearer. :D

    Great shots as always. bowdown.gif

    Thanks everyone.

I'm going to get a few of Kate's shots up tonight after dinner.
A little home cooking sure tastes great after 2 1/2 weeks on the road.

I'm really interested in what lens you used to take your coyote pictures. Would you be happy to share that information with me? My second time looking at them and they are really good, clear, and sharp.

Great shots, Dave. Nice black bear - where'd ya find him? mwink.gif

I told Nick, preshootout, that it wasn't a competition between him and you - all he needs to do is accept your superiority and move on.....rolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif

    Thanks again.

The lens for almost all of the wildlife shots was the Canon 400L f5.6 on a Canon 30D body.
The darn coyote got so close, he/she was inside the min. focal distance a couple of times. :D

Competition, Me and Nick? No way. He'll kick my butt every time.
The kid's way better than he thinks he is. bowdown.gif

    One more coyote shot.

I'm bring this back to the top for one reason, I found my last 12 shots from the shoot out.

Digital Gopher told us of a road about 4-5 miles from the park to take a pano.

Hi Dave - love that prairie/foothills stuff. I loved driving along Duck Lake Rd , and the backroad from East Glacier, and as I've mentioned love the Alberta foothills. Great pano.
