Been looking at getting a flash for my Canon 30D. I found these two:

Which one would be better? Does anyone have experience with any of these or any suggestions of another flash in this same price range?
Thanks

Both links in your post are the same. Regardless, I have not seen "true" E-TTL II supported by anything less than the Sigma EF-500 DG Super. I have 2 of those units and I like them very much. Of course the Canon "EX" flashes support E-TTL II as well.

ooops sorry about that. The second link was suppossed to be for this

Thanks for the info.
I recommend the "Super" version instead. It has the ability to work in a master-slave environment, it can act as an optically slaved unit, it has much better manual control and it can do high-speed-sync.

Data sheet indicates it is E-TTL II. I haven't used it but a couple of buddies have them and are quite pleased.
Definately go with a Sigma super dg. It been the greatest startup flash for me. Then eventually a canon 580ex I would work best.

I went with the 430ex as my starter flash. It turned out to be a great unit. I just ordered my 580ex so I can now slave the 430ex. A little more money but it gives a lot of bang for the buck.
