Amazing portraits Russ. I really like the goose portraits. The color of the beak and the eyes with the wonderfully white feathers stand out. I like the juvenile BCNH in flight though and the hummingbird shot is outstanding. It's really too hard to pick.
P.S. I don't think the last qualifies as a portrait.

Russ, They are all beautiful shots but #2 has to be my fav for its colors. What a regal mix of greens, golds and browns. On a larger bird it would look like royalty. Gongrats !!..

WOW! I am absolutely AMAZED by the stunning clarity of these images. Details like I don't often see. Most Excellent.
If I had to choose a favorite, I would go with # 2. I love the tonal range in that bird's color palatte, and your superior job of spot on focus, exposure, and contrast. That's a real winner in my book!

These colors on the starling are better discernible on overcast days.
Thanks Chris

Thank you so much for your observation and compliment
Nice series Russ. Like the juvy night heron flight shot and the previous hummer. I'd like to see a bit more room on some of these. Feel a bit tight on the comp/crop.
