Hi Guys

I have a new Pro account and already an interest from people to buy pictures...was quite surprised and hope they keep that promise ;-)

Anyway, at this point, most of my original images that have been uploaded at a small 1024 x whatever size. This was prior to me going pro because the interest was not there to sell...but for personal use only. I am slowly up loading larger pictures so that they will have more options when going to the shopping cart.

At this point, when they go into a gallery, they have sizes S, M, and L to pick from but if they see the image on the right (medium), and click shopping cart above this picture, the options that they have to choose from are quite limited than if they choose the large print. How can I correct this or do it the right way?

I would like to link to two things.
1. A how-to order page...selecting the correct size etc
2. An example page of the products...I know there is one and I need to find the link, but was not sure if I could link to it or not...more like "allowed" to link to it from my site.

thank you guys for all of the continued support and my apologies if I missed this in the FAQ

Take care
Ed

Take your customers through a how-to process in you own way, your own style and your own words. Use screen grabs from your own photos / site, and load them up in a journal style gallery. Then use your words as the caption.

of course you can link to the product pages :) In my Pro Tips there are several examples

After looking there, post in the customizing forum for help, if you need it thumb.gif

I believe the reason they have a limited selection in the cart is because the original that you uploaded isn't large enough to be used for some of the selections. The printing (whether a print or other merchandise) is done using the original size photo that you uploaded and is not related to which size print the customer was viewing when they clicked the buy link. The S, M, L sizes are for online viewing only.

Thank you both Andy and Denise

As for the size of the pictures, this is what I was thinking but it appears that when I click on the Large image view vs Small and Medium, and click on the shopping cart at the top, there are more options to choose for purchase. I am going to upload some of the larger originals I just shot and see how that goes.

Andy I will take a look at that info as well and I will do what I can with my style and your suggestions...

    As ALWAYS....thank you so much

It's really the size of the shot you uploaded and not the size you're viewing on the screen. From one of the pages in the wiki that Andy referenced:
Be very careful to upload files with resolution great enough to support the largest size print you wish to sell. If you don't, the sizes won't appear in your shopping cart.
Here's a link to the page showing the minimum requirements by print size: http://www.smugmug.com/help/print-quality#minprintres.

You ROCK Denise....that is the matter. The images I had uploaded before moving to pro are too small for 8 x 10s...so I will have to upload bigger images...I appreciate the help again wings.gif
