Password Protect gallery ?

I set password protection on two galleries to keep guests from making changes. When I log in as a guest, and click on a protected gallery, I'm not prompted for the password. I've cleared the cache and cookies, but it still allows me in. Is this supposed to work this way?
How do I keep logged-in guests from editing photos in some galleries? Thanks.

Guests will be able to see the password anyhow, in gallery customizing settings. It's not designed to prevent that, I'm sorry to say - wish I had a better answer for you!

Thanks. Our guests will be carefully chosen. And I doubt any of them will want to get into those areas. But I just wanted to know if I was missing something.
