Nikon needs to make more lenses. Just a few off the top of my head: AF-S 400 f/5.6, numerous DX primes, AF-S 85 f/1.4. What else?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
That would be hard as their seems to be a crowd leaving Canon and heading over to Nikon at the moment.

So switch will be very easy not that hard !

I wasn't talking about the difficulty level of a switch, just couldn't find a rationale for a switch.
I also can't find a reson for a Nikon related thread to get hi-jacked into a Canon/Nikon thingie again. Why does this happen so frequently with Nikon related threads. I haven't seen a Nikon user jump into a Canon lens thread with this kind of stuff.

Ah, the self-affirming feedback loop.
Let them have their fun (and enjoy a larger lens catalog . . . ).

If you want fast AF AF-S is very important. My only real complaint with the 80-400 is its inability to hold AF on a subject.

The new super teles have no interest for me as I already have the 500mm f/4. I have always felt that VR on superteles that you shoot off a tripod is like wheels on a frog. Its OK but not really necessary. Also I don't want to see my wife's reaction when I tell her how much one of those babies cost. :yikes
Now the 14-24mm f/2.8 has my interest. It can easily replace my 17-35 f/2.8.

Agreed. Though you might want to check out the Sigma 30 f/1.4 for an AF-S/HSM prime.
Very nice. And very, very far beyond what I can afford, hence my interest in a AF-S 400 f/5.6.
The 14-24 is a welcome addition and will probably be useful on both DX and FX bodies. It has no filter threads however, which has many all a twitter.
1-3mm f/0.5, just off the top of my head. AFS Vr Os IF N sjidjkashjashd etc etc... and lets make it a dx. i want to save some weight off my new lenses.
If you had a "serious" request of Nikon, what might that be?
I think that the the world needs more fisheye lenses myself. While Nikon has some really splendid examples already, inexpensive fisheye lenses could be produced, and most of the Nikon "fish" lenses are pretty expensive.
I suggest that a 10mm, f5.6 DX fisheye could be built to sell for around $250 and would probably be a pretty big seller.

Here! Here!
And add VR to the new 24-70mm. Seems like an oversight not to have VR as an option for that lens...but it may have made it larger and it seems that Nikon was going for compactness.
