thank you

    Another option - if what you're looking for is a page that contains mostly text with just a couple of photos - is to use an html-only gallery and reference the photos in your galleries by using <img src html statements. If you allow "share photo" in your galleries, you can use that to pick up the URL to be used in the <img src statement. (I have share photo turned on only when I am logged in.)

    You can see an example of this type of gallery on my page - look at my Kaleidoscope gallery at http://denise.smugmug.com/gallery/2659217.

    For an html-only gallery, see # 60 in the advanced customization FAQ - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=52811.

    you were saying a journal style gallery with text in caption?
    Sounds interesting? How do I do that or how can I see some example of it?the other example that Denise mentionned was the HTML, right is it what you did?

    Here's an example of a journal-style gallery with text in the caption:
    http://denise.smugmug.com/gallery/3175657. All you need to do for this type of gallery is set the style to journal (and I also locked the style on this gallery so viewers can't change it).

    There was a link to an html-only gallery in my previous post.

    Funny I was about to email you.
    It looks about what I wan to do, but am not sure I really understood what Andy was saying by that

    the "gallery description edit box:
    <html>
    your valid HTML goes here
    htmlblahblahblahblah-de-blah
    </html>

    now this stuff goes in your CSS box on your customization page:

    /* html only page for gallery XXXXXX */
    .gallery_XXXXXX .nophotos { display: none; }

    Where do I start ? Writing a text with the software of my choice copy paste along with pictures in the CSS???Non that doesn't sound right.
    Let see ho yes I don't know

    Can you give me idea of what you are trying to accomplish?

    Are you looking for a gallery with one photo and a description where the description possibly contains links to another place? Or multiple photos with descriptions. In either case, you can still use either an html-only page or a journal-style page. The journal-style page is easier from the standpoint of not needed to use hmtl to display the photo(s).

    But I think it would be helpful to understand your purpose first.

    Oh, and don't write the text with your software of choice - unless that software is something simple like Notepad. Using a word processing tool embeds stuff that smugmug won't like.

    Ok I just realized what Andy was talking baout the journal style and it's pretty good so far. Why should one choose this style over the HTML??<img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/headscratch.gif&quot; border="0" alt="" >
    Any pros & cons?

    Journal style is easier, but the format is always alternating photo on one side, text on the other side.

    HTML-only can be used to generate pretty much any look. Again, look at my Kaleidoscope page or my Gallery page. Both are html-only galleries. Link to a journal-style gallery was in my post earlier this afternoon.

    OOOPS PLAYING EMAIL TAG.
    Well I just want to tell the whole world under the buying navbar tab of mine that if someone is crazy enough to buy a print or merchandise from me they should do so, because Smugmug offer the best of the best choice ever known to human kind. well something like that.
    I wanted to clearly focus the public on how to buy from this website (smugmug) with some text and pictures taken from the smugmug buying section. I think that the journal style that Andy was speaking of seems easy enough and would do the job
    What do you think?

    I think that a journal-style gallery would work quite well for that.
    In fact, I am in the process of setting up a similar gallery myself, and I am going to use a journal-style gallery.
