Saw about 200 Scissor Tailed Flycatchers
4 American Kestrels, one loggerhead shrike, and all the regulars, mourning doves, grackles, both common and great tailed, one red tailed hawk, house sparrows, one ruby throated hummingbird early this morning and couldn't get a decent pic of any of them. :bash Frustrating beyond belief! Oh well, there is always tomorrow.
Tell me this happens to you too, please!

So.....my first mistake was coming here and admitting this to you. I knew I shouldn't be honest all the time.

That makes me feel better. I had a kestrel fly right over my head but couldn't get the focus! :bash

Only one? Well, I guess that is correct, because I swear this was the ONLY time it has happened to me. wink

I was driving through the wetlands when I saw a great egret by the side of the road. No big deal. Then I saw what it had in its mouth!!!!!!! :eek1
It had caught either a chipmunk or a young squirrel!
It would have been a beautiful shot, one that would have horrified every rodent lover on the forum. The only problem was that I was too close to
the egret. If I got out of the car it would take off for sure. So I decided to back up and then get out when I was far enough away so as to not spook the egret. As I was about to back up I looked out my rear view mirror and coming down the road were two frigging yuppie bicyclists.
Of all the stupid places to ride a bike!!!!! I knew that they would get near the egret and spook it before I could back up to a safe distance. I had no choice. I got out of the car and went for the shot. I got a backlit egret butt shot as it flew off. :cry :bash

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
This stuff never happens to me, honest, the birdies just ask me what I would like them to do !!! :ivar
