RSS feeds performance

I'm using RSS feeds parsing to search photos by keywords but performance I'm getting is pretty bad - like 6-10 seconds for URLs similar to this:

http://smugmug.com/hack/feed.mg?Type=search&format=rss200&Data=epdiveid2266

Is it how it's suppose to perform? Is there anything can be done to speed up the response?

    So nobody is using RSS feeds for searches or nobody is seeing performance issues?

    Sorry for the late reply.

    Feeds is something I have been working on in the background, rewriting portions so that we can support some new formats easier, but none of this code is live yet.

    Are you intending on searching over all smugmug images ? or just a given nickname ?

    As I believe searching over a user will be quicker, also using keywords might be quicker than using search as this does a full text search over captions as well.

    If you give me some more specific info I can help you out further.
