Outstanding series. clap.gif I would love to critique them but I don't see any room for improvement.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

WHERE did you take these? The only place I know of to get close to pelicans on a reliable basis is near Pismo Beach... Sometimes you can get close at Santa Cruz, but most of my haunts they are rather skittish and fly away if humans approach too closely.

Great shots, that's my goal, to get shots like yours. Lighting was good, love the water and some of the reflections too. You must have been happy with the photo opp!

Wow! What color and detail. I don't think you have a problem with the 1D Mark III focusing properly. Amazing shots.

An excellent series. You've caught some great action shots here and processed them very well. Great Job.

Thanks so much, when the MK3 locks on it's by far the best camera I have ever used, the color and detail that this camera produces is 2nd to none

Hi Froggy, Great shots and the lighting was perfect. We don't have the brown pelicans around here but had one pair of whites last fall that stayed for about a month. For as large as they are the whites were very graceful in flight. Watching the whites fish was also very interesting, they were in absolute unison and would look at each other before they went under to push the fish to each other. Super shots.

Thanks so much, we get the whites here also but they tend to be fresh water species, it's amazing how graceful this big guys are in the air.

When they skim the top of the ocean inches off of the surface I'm always in awe watching them
