can someone tell me if this pic will print too dark?

I like the deep, rich colors here, but I'm wondering if this will print up darker than ideal, say as an 8x10?

Also...if I crop a picture a little too much for a particular sized print, will EZ prints upsample for me? (Is that the right word for it?)

Auto will improve this nicely :)
Yes, our system won't let you order a print if the resolution is too-low.

Was this done using the Auto function in the check out cart or the Auto under the Color Effects section? I've read somewhere, that you don't want to use both?

    Right.

This is Auto with I2E, which is the software we use at the lab. You can also get I2E via ClubSmug

It looks to me like the biggest difference between the two images is sharpening. If I am planning on printing through EZPrints, should I let I2E take care of the sharpening rather than doing my own sharpening in Photoshop before I upload? Or, put another way, if I sharpen before uploading, is the auto setting going to give me oversharpened prints?

Don't go by that - this was an i2e on a small resized image. i2e is set to give gentle sharpening at the lab, and rarely, if ever, have I seen an i2e'd print get returned for being over-sharpened.

I hope this means you just gave me an example based on pulling the pic from the thread, right? Since I didn't link you to the actual gallery shot? I figured that was why it appeared oversharpened.

Ok, sorry I still need some direction in this subject. I took photos at a fundraiser in the blazing sun. (I had no choice of where the set up was) My photos are either too bright, like this one: http://www.photosbyjeanne.com/gallery/3608263/1/205297928/Large

OR if I didn't use a low flash they have too many shadows and too much contrast as the sun moved during the day.

I am going to order a batch of them to be mailed out to my customers. Do I just use AUTO adjust during the check-out? Or do I do a bulk adjust before hand. I am afraid to do any photoshop on them because I don't want to spend the time adjusting them if I can just do it during the check-out process.

    PLEASE Help! THANK YOU!
