I'm abandoning my AB800's for now, slowly becoming a strobist convert. :)

It's a pain in the buttox to carry around 2 AB800 strobes, that and the power supply issue always seem to come up. So I decided to pick up an SB800 and SB26. This just gives me more freedom when shooting out and about.

Here's a sample of single light "strobe" with a silver umbrella camera right.

Lighting is nicely done. Good job getting her right eye exposed. The shadows aren't too deep - you still have some detail there.thumb.gif

I also like your work, but...
For me her eyes are too... sharp so to say, in other words they rise above. Thats why they look unnatural (in comparison with the rest).
All the rest (Light, colors) are... super!

I think the lighting is beautiful. Rembrandt would be proud with the nose shadow and patch of light under the eye. Nice. Skin treatment is also lovely. But I agree with Yuri, the whites of the eyes seem over-whitened, perhaps?

Still and all, it is striking. Nice job.

    Lighting is amazing!!! bowdown.gif

Love the textures of the jacket and clothing, but they seem to contradict the overly perfect textures of her face and eyes. Maybe something more natural? ne_nau.gif

Hair, eyes, leather, and lips, all are a great color match. Nice. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the comments and critiques guys/gals. It is greatly appreciated.

I used a silver umbrella to my right, and the wall to my left provided a little fill.

As for the eyes I only did very minor tweaking, didnt really notice anything wrong until you guys mentioned it. :)
