Image Permissions

This may require a paradigm shift on my part, but I'm open to suggestions.

I would like to do the following: I would like to grant share groups access to images that span multiple categories. It appears that smugmug only allows permissions based on categoried not specific images.

Here is an example of my scenario: I have specific images that are in private gallerys that I would like to share out publically. For example I don't want to share out all of the images from my vacation only a small subset, is this possible without uploading the images twice?
