I had to take these shots for my photography class. I wanted to see what yall thought of them.

#1 The assignment was: 1) Photograph a still-life that is heavy in produce. Thus, it should have a great amount of green. Photograph under fluorescent lighting conditions. If able, move the light to give some side or back lighting.
The image may have other colors beside green, but green should be
lush. Consider spraying the green produce with water or even a mix-
ture of water and glycerine.

#2 Using one source of light, photograph a still-life object where the
one source of light provides a key, fill and kicker. This will require
preferably a flood light or 100w and a few mirrors. Tripod is strongly
recommended.

#1: Everything past the lettuce is distracting background. The edge where the wall and counter meet is too prevalent here. I know you did it for compostion, but the knife looks out of place. Radishes appear to be over-blown in color.

#2: Lighting is good, but I feel the fork is covering up the good-looking tomato. There are smudges on the fork's handle, too. You left a small dark spot on the right side near the handle. Reflections on the coffee cup appear to be distractin on this one, too.

First one has a decent compo, but the counter has to go...maybe a dark cloth would help. It is oversaturated.

    Second one is too bright.

Give it another try and let us see. I did some product shots a while back and had to reshoot several times. Not all that easy.

thanks very much for the great comments yall! these will help me very much towards getting a better grade. i'll try lowering the saturation on the first one, and darkening the second. lowering some of the reflections on the cup and cleaning up the fork will be a good idea too, as noted.

i really appreciate the tips and criticism!
