I'm always looking for a new sport
This is Sliding Rock, Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, a huge tourist and locals fun spot. This was last weekend so the water was very cold.
Some of the sliders decided to slide after they came and just went in with their long jeans on....fun can be strange
Some only went once and I think they may have changed their mind 1/2 way down.

:giggle Before I read that you'd said people only had one go I was going to say it looks like they took just one turn each because all of them are relatively dry!

I suppose it could be fun if you don't have your own slip 'n slide, but I'd be afraid of a sore bumme. :D

    Looks like a blast!

I thnk you'd be surprised how smooth that is Schmoo. Water over time can make things smoother than the finest grit sandpaper. Not saying this is the case, but I know water can do that.

I'd definately want to do it when the weather was hot though...

the rocks are sooo smooth you can't walk on them w/o slipping....100's of years of water has made them like that but they are still hard

    nice series!
Sliding has been tough this year due to the drought. I've seen many a person bust butt there not realizing just how slippery wet rocks can be. Very nice captures!

Looks fun, but why did they only have one go headscratch.gif
Was it more frightful than it looks ???
or because the water was too cold?

That cold mountain water going over rock in Western NC makes for a slippery time for sure. My parents live over that way, and it is hard work wading threw the streams fly fishing without busting your butt.
