Bear cub late in the season

We ran across this bear cub (and it's mom) in Yosemite on Monday, I was suprised to see one this little so late in the year.

    What a small little guy. It is a good pose you captured. Is that a grizzly or brown bear?

    Thanks, Mom was close, making sure I didn't do anything stupid :)

    I have pictures of the two of them together, I'll try to post one this weekend.
