After the snow and overcast conditions of Lake O'Hara (which was beautiful anyway), I got a bang-up day at Moraine Lake. It snowed hard overnight, but cleared up just in time to give partly cloudy skies with about 8" of fresh snow.
Good time for a canoe ride...
Probably 1 stop underexposed, consider this a "mood shot" :wink
For those who didn't grab it via right click, my gallery of all my shots from the trip (~150 of 'em) is here:

I am amazed at the variety of blues that can be found in scenes like this that are usually portrayed in greyscale. Winter is quite often desolate and monochrome but you have such rich tones in the sky, water, shadows... You do a beautiful job making the silence and purity of this area tangible.
Is #6 a rock underwater? I can't make heads or tails of what I'm looking at.

#6 is in fact a rock underwater. I cropped in a bit so it's more about color and what I saw. If I left the tree and other surrounding stuff in the image it was a bit messy. It gave it context but it was plain u-g-l-y :-)
I just refreshed my memory about your work. I distinctly remember your posts from way back when you went to Antarctica. Specifically that I burned at least an hour at work going through the galleries.
Shots like this one have really inspired me to go out and seek new and unpopulated places to shoot, as well as to approach everything differently.

Amazing images - I love the color of the lake in the 1st shot. I really hope we get at least one snow like that this winter.
