Anyone have any experience with the new Pelican 1510 case? I have 1450, wanting something larger. Must be carry-on legal, and have handle and rollers.

I have the 1510 and most recently used it in January travelling to and from California with it and two other pelican cases. They all survived the trip and the contents too.

It fits in the overhead compartment. I took it and my camera bag over my shoulder and was allowed to board even full flights.

Thanks Shay. Do you have the pick and pluck, or the padded dividers?

Bare case. I keep equipment in smaller padded containers that go in the case. The case is just a shell for me to protect the inner containers from being crushed.

I have it, got it for my birthday present from dear wife. It holds, and is almost maxed out:

Canon 1D Mark II with strap and grip
    24-70/2.8L
    70-200/2.8L IS
    400/5.6L
    Extra battery
    CF card case
    SD card case
    Canon 580EX flash
    Canon 1.4x converter

And it is FULL. I purchased the padded divider to carry all my gear for transport, including the GL1, battery chargers and AA nicads. I have not used the padded divider yet. I do take the 1510 with me on shoots, in fact I was out today with it. Fits on the front seat very nice.

Definitely worth getting. I spent 3 days arranging the gear just to get it perfect. :D

One last question regarding Pelicans. I like the Pick and Pluck of my 1450, but I have found that in many spots I have the minimum amount of PnP, which is 2 columns. I know the PnP makes your gear very safe, but if you have lots of places with the minimum amount of PnP, is your gear not any safer than with the padded dividers? If so, I'd rather have the flexibility of the padded dividers.

    Thanks.
