I think that those of us with less than perfectly clear skies need to take advantage of all shooting light, not just perfect light (something I need to remind myslef of)

Maybe see how it looks with a wider/shorter crop? It seems like there is a little bit too much empty sky, though that could be what you were going for.

That's a Chamber of Commerce shot!
Natural selection is responsible for every living thing that exists.
D3s, D500, D5300, and way more glass than the wife knows about.
The second shot is nice, but similar can be seen in any chamber of commerce brochure.
crop the bottom away where the clearer / sharper mast reflections end.
Nice subtle colors--a true Puget Sound Autumn scene. The perspective looks like you were in a canoe or kayak.
