Today is my birthday, so I was able to leverage a family photo! I shot RAW (only my third time ever!), shot manual, and used my camera's built-in flash. Yay me! Now, I'm up for some C&C, please!

Thanks, everyone, for the birthday wishes and kind words! :ivar
Scott...shooting RAW still makes me a little nervous, only because of my lack of skills in the pp department! I'm limping my way through it, but I know I can do better. I am able to see, however, the huge benefits...lots more detail available to work with and the ability to correct for slight blow-outs, to name a couple. I do seem to be seeing some differences between my edited shot and what is seen here, though (less contrast here). Not sure why that is. I have a long ways to go before I'm confident with the flash!
Pineapple...I so WISH I had a shot of my husband giving me a 40D and 70-200 f 2.8!!! I can hope for Christmas! BTW...I used a remote cord for this one. I set it on 2 sec timer so I could push the button, drop the remote and put my hand in place on my son's arm.
Cuties...Happy (early) Birthday to you! It's a great time of year for a birthday, don't you think?
Thanks again, all!

For built in camera flash, this turned out really well. It doesn't even look like on camera lighting.
Nice shot,
And happy birthday!

Lovely family and lovely shot. You did use a self timer or remote?
Also, where's your hubby giving you that new Canon 40D with the 70-200 f2.8L IS USM lens?
