In my last post Ian408 suggested I could crop in tighter. I thought he was nuts, but I decided I'd try cutting off someones legs at the next opportunity. Given the fact that the lights suck at the football field and I don't have much reach with a 70-200mm lens, I was left with a few opportunities near the sidelines. So here are a couple.

it's not the size of the lens that matters... It's how you focus it.

I like the facial expression on the first one and I think you're doing a great job on exposure during a tough shooting situation. thumb.gif

I keep thinking about Ann's statement when shooting sports (her sport is soccer). Shoot tight, crop tighter.

I think it takes a while to get used to, especially when I cut a person in half, but now set a goal for the shoot -- Do I want to capture individuals? the plays? etc. It's not easy, but I think I'm getting better with practice.
