Skin.....

Was bored tonight so thought I would play around with some skin smoothing. Used some dodging and burning using curves adjustments and masks. No blurring involved in the process at all whatsoever.

Half sepia using a highpass filter set to layer mode "color".
I would love to know what you guys think of the process?

Alex

How about a before/after combo so we can see how far you've taken it. It looks very nice, but I'm wondering what it was that this work has fixed.

Hey guys, thanks a bunch for the comments. One of these days I'll get to writing a tutorial :) but for now just playing around with different things. I'm not completely satisfied with it yet. :)

Here's a before and after though so you see what exactly was done.....

Here's another before and after, instead of writing a tute I will upload a PSD file of my workflow. You'll laugh when you see how simple it really is. :)

Your PSD doesn't open for me! headscratch.gif

It says it wasn't saved with a composite image...?

    Alex,

I got that file to open. Very interesting. Thank you for taking the time and effort to post that, it's very helpful and generous.

While I didn't laugh at it's simplicity, I can understand that once you get the hang of that process, you can do it easily.

This is great, because I didn't have anything else on my to do list. (yeah, right) :D:D

I'm glad you guys like the PSD. It just goes to show that there's really no great mystique, in this kind of processing. Just get used to a lot of dodging and burning. :)

Thanks for the before and after. It does make your skin technique look good. It looks good without going too far. I'm still using your actions and they are quite handy.
