This past weekend my wife took one of her friends on a climbing trip to Seneca Rocks WVA.

My son, Mack --

and I set up base camp and waited for the ladies to climb.

(Note Seneca Rocks in the background. Taken with an effective 16mm)

I don't have a long lens but put the 70/200 and a 1.4 ext on the 40D and set it on the tripod with live view and the magnification engaged. Mack and I watched until we saw Carol's unmistakeable orange jacket and white helmet on the summitt.

Mack was quite thrilled to see his Mom on "TV" on the back of the camera. :)

This is the photo taken with the effective 450mm (or so).

Here are a couple that the ladies took of each other on the summitt.

What a great lady. After the trip she looked at my Keeper Gallery. Her comment was, "you know what you're doing." I guess that was praise enough. :) I guess the photo of Carol is now worth something? :)
