Here's a quick peek at the current state of some lovely bottles of 2008 Martinborough Pinot Noir from New Zealand. Still a wee way to go.

Good shots- for making red or white wine ? (think you can do either with that grape)

It's a red skinned grape. Pinot Noir is know as Bordeaux as it's from that region of France, that is the red wine that it's best known for. Most good sparking wine or champagne is almost all Pinot, although it can have upto 40% Chardonay mixed in.

There is also Blac de Pinot which is a pink/rose wine which is made like a white wine but the red skins are left on top of the squeezed grapes for 12 hours so it ends up a light pink colour, you might look like a bit of a girl but it is good on a summers afternoon with a barbeque. :)

Well they are just sprouting now, and they'll be picked during april or early may, depending on the sun and level of sugars. clap.gif
