I got my Canon 85mm f1.8 and ExpoDisc! :D

#1 Picture of my lovely wife, sitting on the couch with me as I play with my 85mm f1.8 new lens! (Automatic White Balance on the 30D)

#2 Picture for Custom White Balance, taken with my ExpoDisc. I should say it is probably underexposed... I had not figured that yet :p

its a conspiracy.... or a coup de tat..... wait no, its a paradox wrapped in an enigma, surronded by a riddle.

And why does pineapplephoto get more hits and posts than posts that actually have pics....? hmmmm headscratch.gif

    She's beautiful
She looks like a woman in a Vermeer or another of the Dutch masters. What a face. If I were you, with a model like that, I wouldn't look anywhere else for a model 'till I'd worn out my shutter.iloveyou.gif

It really does the job when you can point your camera at the light source, though I find the WhiBal to be a bit more versatile. You pretty well nailed the White Balance. Boost the exposure next time and I think you will have a very nice photograph of a lovely lady!

    Scott,

What is the WhiBal?.....I am looking for a white balance solution, but I feel that the Expodisc isn't it for me.

Also a birdie told me she uses a Newton flash bracket that was reccomended by you, and I would be interested in some info on that as well. If you are interested in leading me in the right direction please send a PM and I will blister you with questions about the bracket .

    I would appreciate it.

Whibal is a card based solution. I have the small lanyard version and the larger studio version. Find it at www.whibal.com It's really geared towards a RAW workflow.

I like it as it's simple to take a quick reference shot(s) during a shoot as the light changes. The White Balance is fine tuned later in post processing. I believe that NAPP members get a discount on products from WhiBal.

    Regards,
