a hawk?

I am not a bird person so I have no idea what this is. Any help?

    Hi Twinsmom, According to my book it looks to me like a Light Red Tailed hawk (possible juvenile). Cant really tell from the front photos without seeing its bands and back feathers. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

    great captures.....it's a halloween Hawk ..you can tell by the talon coming out of it's belly:D

    I do not hink it is a red tail - look up coopers or even a goshawk

    Good shot. I am going to go with a juvenlie Red-tail. The patterns on the breast are like a red-tail.
