This is the same bridge the "Stunt Junkies" used... the one where the person jumped off the top of a mack truck. From what I remember, the river was the last place you wanted to land!!!! ne_nau.gif

It is the New river bridge in WV. Bridge day is the 3rd Sat. in October every year, 400 jumpers, a great festival on the bridge and over 100,000 spectators. This year the jumpers made close to 800 jumps from the bridge.
A great water rescue team is there and many do land in the water but are picked up in seconds.
    More bridge day here.

What a great opportunity to get some shots, since most BASE jumps are covert and you have to know the jumper, and the where, to get the shot. Thanks for sharing. I can't help but imagine 100,000 people, and 400 jumpers, crowding on (I know...they are scattered) to an old span bridge on the same day. The visual almost has a (sick) cartoon feel to it...rolleyes1.gif

Yeah it's great that people can still do this in America off an impressive structure like that, at least ONE day out of 365. Nice shots, I enjoyed them!

The New River gorge is a gorgeous place. I'm too chicken to base jump, but I raft under that bridge every once in a while.

    Nice job! :)
