Photo Storage

Greetings everyone. I have recently run into a problem with my media. Earlier in 2007 we switched from JPG to RAW format for all of our photo events including weddings. We use Lightroom for our workflow solution and after our event is over we catalog the event out to a folder.
Now I have a folder with many catalogs in it. I was planning on burning each event to a DVD for reliable media. The problem is now my catalogs are so large I cannot fit a wedding onto a DVD.
Do have them on a USB Drive which is also backed up to a second USB drive. I don't want to leave them on USB drives forever since hard drives have a tendency to crash.
What method would you recommend? I liked the DVD option because it was fairly inexpensive.
Any Ideas?

You could try one of the online backup services, such as Carbonite.
I am giving them a try now and at $49.95 a year for unlimited space it seems like a good choice.

It's an empty (not really EMPTY, just no HDDs) shell with spots for 4 drives. It uses a propritary format similar to RAID, but DOESN'T require all your drives to be identical!
I've got one and only have 3 drives in it currently (500GB x2 + 320GB) and it gives me ~720GB of protected space.
Fully upgradable! If you run out of space, simply remove the smallest drive and put a larger one in that place. It will automatically re-allocate your data for maximum security.
Very little interaction necessary. If you surpass the 2TB drive size limit in Windows it will automatically make a second 'drive' show up so Windows recognizes the additional storage space available to you.
