Pics from my daughter's 18th birthday surprise party at the lake. The only lights were from the candles and hanging lights.

What do you think? I've posted a few times in the LPS, but my pics have always been off the theme.

It sure looks like your daughter had a great birthday celebration!!

Of the photos you posted, the first definitely is colorful and so meets the theme. It has some technical problems, though - understandable given lighting conditions you were working with. My eye keeps struggling to find something in focus and for me the burned out part of the flame takes up too much of the frame.

I like #4 better, though it isn't so strongly colorful. I think a little tweaking to bring out the colors in the candles and the top of the cake and you have an entry that definitely meets the theme. It tells a story, has color, is a little different from the other entries.
