Recent Wedding Pic

Hello all! Just sharing a shot from a recent wedding. I used a off camera Vivitar 285HV and a shoot through umbrella. I also had a Vivitar 285 on a flash bracket. The lighting I used with this wedding has been by far the best yet. I love off camera flash!!

lighting looks fantastic.

Would like to see a tighter crop. There is a lot going on in this picture that makes it somewhat distracting...but that could just be me.

Very nice. I wonder about an almost square crop - get rid of some top & bottom, since the subject is the bride, and the secondary subject is the skyline, there is no need for that much sky. My two cents, and I am not a portrait photog, so their value is

Beautiful...I would darken the background just a tad (in CS3 or 2 whichever you have)...and make the bride just pop. Beautiful.

I do agree there is too much open area. I did print an 8x10 and cropped the print this afternoon. It looked much better. I also think I will darken the background just a tad to bring more focus on the bride. Thanks.

Mark, share your cropped version in a larger size with us. I'm impressed with how you've held onto all of the whites in that dress.

the crop is much better. The other one, though, offers the flexibility of gettting it printed in a multitude of sizes.

Any way you cut it (pun intended), this is an aswesome shot!

Thanks again all for the comments. That certainly is a huge yacht in the background. We were in Portsmouth, VA but the buildings and yacht across the way is the Waterside in Norfolk, VA. She picked an awesome location for the wedding and we had great luck considering it was supposed to be 100% chance of rain!!
