The conversion suits the image well and the camera angle gives the image a lot of attitutde. I think it would be better if he were not wearing the sun glasses. For me, the eyes of a subject reveal about 90% of the personality and here all I get is a gritty, "in your face" sort of attitude. If that's what you intended to convey, then you've done well.

I like #2 -- the way the angle of the dangling cigarette leads toward his eye, and slightly raised eyebrow...

If you want to focus more on the eyes, dont be afraid to chop the top of his head off, our eyes are trained to fillin the missing area anda focus on one of the "third's" lines where his eye would end up being.

I really like all three, with #2 being my favorite. Love the crop and the attitude. I do wish the right eye were sharper - just because that is where my eyes looks first - but the overall impact is great as is.

1. was taken with Nikon D40 & Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5
2 & 3. were taken with Nikon D50 & Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 VR

Great shots! You do nice work. The cigarette in the second shot almost looks like a prop, and I sort of want to see the mouth and chin on the last, but they were all fun. Thanks for sharing.

I really like the photo, but I cannot help but look at the shadows under his glasses, it really bothers me! otherwise i like it though! but i think number two is the best! J.Cleveland

The first one is great, nice conversion and very detailed, but I wish it was framed a bit lower with less sky and a bit more room below his hand. The framing on the second one is great, but the image is a tad soft. Not a big deal, but after the super crisp first shot it is a bit of a dissapointment. The third shot doesn't do much for me.

The second image, without the glasses, is top drawer. The eyes say it all, the cigarette is just icing on the cake.
