Ok so I just got a new Manfotto 190probx and a 488rc2 ball head to go with it and loving it....

But on the times I have been out with it something seriously odd has been happening. Where the camera plate attaches into the ball head; its got bubbles, similar to that when you sweat!! All I can think of is that its the moisture from my fingers on it rubbing with the grease from the head switch as it had a fair bit of the stuff on it! One of the more strange events in my photography!

I have found in cold situations the metal plates accumulate condensation from when I breathe near it. Seems a little early in the year for that, though. ne_nau.gif

Actually in the gulf coast ( I lived in the New Orleans area) you actually do develop sweat beads (or bubbles). Mine would get 1/4 inch in diameter before they broke and layered the entire skin in persperation. It is a very interesting thing that I had never seen before living in Oklahoma, Virginia, California, and Missouri.

    Regards,

    Mike

Laughing.gif Shows that I haven't visited that part of the country yet. Anyway, that is an odd effect on the ballhead & I've never heard of it before, maybe worth a "huh, never seen that before" photo.
