I've been away for the past few months, but have been shooting with Russ in my spare time. Here's a few for your enjoyment as I await the arrival of my 500 VR.

They pose for you

Nice shots of the kingfisher! That 500mm will be awesome when you get it, and I can't wait to see shots from it.

They are everyone's nemesis, and this was as close as I have ever been. Russ, Jeff and I discovered him showing off at Lake Balboa. :D:D

Thanks Chris, these usually stay away, but for some reason this one made himself available and I was able to get close enough with my 300. Can't wait for Nikon to ship the 500.

Hey, Dallas --- These are really nice shots of the kingfisher. For me, this is one of the hardest birds to get close to. And you thought it was hard to get close to the burrowing owls? --- John

Thanks John, just good luck I guess, but getting close to the burrowing owls is one thing; finding them is another.
