Cheer in B&W

I was thinking of getting one of these critiqued over in The Whipping Post, but instead I'm here making a Wimpy Post. (Haha-)
I'm still interested in people's impressions/critiques, however!

G'day Nimai. Great subjects but im seeing some exposure issues. Those particular photos would be very hard to balance.

In #1 all my eye picks up is the shadows, The cheerleaders look like a photo negative of themselves.

What did they look like in colour? #2 could be a great shot.

I was attempting to make these more on the abstract side, that's why I cranked the contrast and made them B&W in the first place. I'll post the color versions, however, for comparison.
