Auto Size Doesn't Work for First Image in Firefox?

Ok, so follow me here. User is using Firefox 2.0.0.8 and looking at Smugmug view:

User clicks on image to go to larger view, auto is what's selected, user sees image that is 800px wide:

User clicks next and sees image that is 1024 pixels wide. This is the correct image size based on the browser width.
I tested this in IE and it gets the image size right on the first click, it doesn't require the smaller 800px wide image first like Firefox.
So is this a Firefox bug, or a code issue with Smugmug?
